What's new?

Note: This activity is not intended to provide the appropriate level of training needed to enable employees to carry out complex water quality risk assessments; further training should be undertaken if this is part of your role.

The overwhelming majority of hotels, bars, restaurants and cafés will never experience an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease. However, the only true way for managers, general managers, and teams to prevent such an outbreak is by understanding how it can happen, what the disease is, and how legionella bacteria can be prevented from spreading in a hospitality environment. This activity will help you to identify the risks and learn prevention and control measures.

This activity is suitable for both team members and managers. A lot of information included will be useful to managers but aims to make team members aware of the level of responsibility required if they are expected to cover for a manager or team leader, with responsibilities between the roles specified.
