Understanding hierarchy terminology

To help you understand the hierarchy, please see our terminology, below:

Family tree

The structure of the hierarchy.

Parent

The person directly above the user in the hierarchy.

Child

Anyone directly beneath the user in the hierarchy.

Descendants

Everyone below the user in the hierarchy.


Make changes to the above site hierarchy

πŸ“ŒNote: Before you start, please be aware that to follow these steps, you need admin permissions. If you don't have it use the Access Digital Assistant and request to speak to an agent.


To change the parent of a user in the above site hierarchy, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Admin Tool.

  2. Click Config, then click Hierarchy.

  3. Click Organisation on the top page.

  4. Locate the user that needs removing, click Remove icon.

    • This removes them as a descendant of that user.

    • If they have descendants you need to remove these and add them back once you've changed this user parent.

  5. Locate the new parent and click Add Child icon.

  6. Search for the user's name who you want to add.

    • You can add in this user's descendants by doing step 5 again.

  7. Click Save, then click Organisation Rebuild.

    • ​​​​​​​This will now rebuild the hierarchy.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    • Allow up to four hours for your changes to update within your system and reporting.
