Understand multiple choice question type in appraisals

In this section, you’ll find guidance on the different question types available in appraisals. It covers everything from defining each type to setting parameters like mandatory responses and target groups, ensuring a structured and effective appraisal process.

Multiple choice question type

Multiple-choice questions allow users to select one or multiple predefined answers. These questions help gather structured feedback from employees and managers on various aspects of performance and development.

To add a multiple-choice question to your appraisal, follow these steps:

  1. Click Manage appraisals.

  2. Click Create Appraisal.

  3. Add a Section and an Introduction to your appraisal.

  4. Click Add on the left sidebar and select Question.

    • From the drop-down box, select Multiple Choice as the question type.

  5. Configure the following settings:

    • Target: Determines who answers the question.

      • Employee.

      • Manager.

      • Employee and Manager.

      • Manager and Senior Manager.

      • Senior Manager.

    • Mandatory: Specifies if the question is required.

      • No.

      • Employee.

      • Manager.

      • Employee and Manager.

      • Manager if Employee answered.

    • Description: Provide additional context for the question.

  6. Select Question Parameter.

    • Single select means the user answering the question in the appraisal will only be able to select 1 multiple-choice option.

    • Multi Select means the user answering the question in the appraisal will be able to select multiple options.

  7. To create a multiple-choice question click plus icon,

  8. Use Allow Comments toggle to enable or disable comments on the question.

  9. Click Save changes.


Example of a multiple choice question

Question Title: Key areas of performance improvement.

Description: Based on your recent work experience, which areas do you think require improvement for better job performance?

Target: Employee and Manager.

Mandatory: Manager if Employee answered.

Question Parameter: Multi Select.

Options:

  • Time Management.

  • Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Leadership Abilities.

  • Customer Service.

  • Team Collaboration.

By structuring appraisal questions effectively, organizations can gather valuable insights to drive employee growth and performance development.
