Give users access to view additional sites on Insights

You can add additional sites to a manager on Insights reporting through the Admin tool.

Written by Xanthe Jackson

To add more sites to a user for CPL Insights Reporting, follow the steps below:

📌Note: Only admin users or administrators can add additional sites. If you’re unable to do so or need access to view more sites, use the Access Digital Assistant.

  1. Log in to the Admin tool.

  2. Locate the Employee you wish to view more sites for.

  3. Click the Employee, then click Config.

  4. Click Permissions, then click Reporting.

  5. Click Add Permission.

  6. Select the Sites you require the employee to have access to.

If a user already has sites listed under reporting permissions but can't see a site that appears in their hierarchy, this is the cause. To fix this, either add the missing site to their reporting permissions, or remove all explicit permissions so Insights uses the organisational hierarchy instead.

📌 Important: Adding specific sites here will override the organisational hierarchy on Insights, the user will only see the sites explicitly listed, even if more are assigned via hierarchy. To ensure employees retain access to their current site, you must also select that site when adding new ones.

How reporting permissions and hierarchy interact

Understanding how these two settings work together helps you control exactly which sites appear in an employee's Insights reports.

Scenario

What Insights shows

No sites listed under reporting permissions

All sites from the Organisational hierarchy.

One or more sites listed under reporting permissions

Only those listed sites: The hierarchy is ignored entirely.

Some sites in permissions, others in hierarchy only

Only the sites listed in permissions: Any hierarchy-only sites are excluded.
